Question 376122: I have been trying for hours to solve the following type of equations and get stuck toward the end. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. The following is the problem and below is what I am trying:
Write an equation of the line containing the given point and perpendicular to the given line
(9, -4); 6x + 5y = 4
ME: 5y=-6x+4
y= 6/5x+4/5
y-(-4)=6/5(x-9)
I believe I have to subtract 4 from each side but this is where I keep getting confused. Thanks in advance for any help
