the 2m-6 you just take out.
the -(-4+m) is the same as -1*(-4+m). you change all the signs inside the parentheses and get rid of the minus sign outside it like this: +4-m.
2m-6-3m+4=+4-m-4m+6
-m-2=-5m+10
add 5m and 2 to each side. 4m=12
divide 4 into each side. m=3
Check: (ALWAYS check)
(2*3)-6-((3*3)-4)=-(-4+3)-(4*3)+6
6-6-(9-4)=-(-1)-12+6
-9+4=1-6
-5=-5
