Question 957304: I'm having trouble understanding the graphing...
Find three integer or decimal solutions to the following equation, then graph the solution set.
4x-5y=20
When I submitted my answers I wasn't even close to the answers that were being requested! It was requesting (104, 105), (101, 96), (200, 300)?? Help Please! Thanks!

What points did you find?
None of those 3 are solutions.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Find three integer or decimal solutions to the following equation, then graph the solution set.
to do so, you need to choose three values for and calculate to find points that lie on this line, plot points and draw a line through
....first solve for

now we can choose ANY number for : I would like , ,and
if
so, first point is ( , ) which is y-intercept
if

second point is ( , ) which is x-intercept
if

second point is ( , )
now we can plot points:
then draw a line:
if requesting ( , ), ( , ), ( , ) then I can check if these points lie on given line
if

....so, ( , ) is solution for given equation
check it ones again with

check second point ( , )

and third point ( , )

so, these points do NOT lie on a line
see it on a graph:
