Same x-intercept as 2x-5y=6:
2x-5%2A0=6
2x=6
x=3, meaning the point (3,0).

Same slope as 3x+y=6:
y=6-3x
y=-3x%2B6, slope-intercept form.
slope=-3

You have your choice of three different equation forms for a line for finding the equation described in your exercise. My choice for this, y=mx%2Bb;
b=y-mx
Use the known point.
b=0-%28-3%29%2A3
b=9

The equation for the line is highlight%28y=-3x%2B9%29.

You should generalize the process to answer the first part of your question, but you choose what forms of equation that you want.
