SOLUTION: we are studying slope and y-intercept. The problem is to graph y=5x-1 using the slope and y-intercept. I think the slope is 5 and the y-intercept is -1. How do I graph that?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
we are studying slope and y-intercept. The problem is to graph y=5x-1 using the slope and y-intercept. I think the slope is 5 and the y-intercept is -1. How do I graph that?
------------------
y-intercept = f(0) = -1
----
Plot the point (0,-1)
----
slope = 5 = 5/1 = change in y/change in x
----
Procedure:
From (0,-1) move 1 to the right to (1,-1)
Then move 5 up to (1,4)
---
Plot (1,4)
------
Draw a line thru (0,-1) and (1,4)
That is the graph you want.
