{ y= -x + 3
Please help me help my son and I want to know how to solve it and not just the answer

You can put this solution on YOUR website! y= -x + 5
y= -x + 3

First:: Do you see that both of these equations cannot be true?

If you assume that y in the 1st equation is the same
as y in the 2nd equation:
-x+5 = -x+3
----
If you assume that x on the left side is the same
as x on the right side::
5 = 3
--------
That is a contradiction that resulted from what you assumed.

Conclusion: There is no (x,y) that satisfied both equations.
