You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Very, very, very brief:

Slope-Intercept Form,y=mx%2Bb;

m=%28-3-1%29%2F%28-4-0%29, vertical change divided by horizontal change;

Helps when you know one point and the slope,b=y-mx.

Rewrite the slope intercept equation using found m and b.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first step is to find the slope. %28y%5E2-y%5E1%29%2F%28x%5E2-x%5E1%29
%28-3-1%29%2F%28-4-0%29=%28-4%2F-4%29
The slope is 1.
The slope-intercept formula is y=mx%2Bb
Plug in 1 for the slope. y=1x%2Bb which is the same as y=x%2Bb.
Now using the point (0,1) that they gave you, plug the x and y value into the equation and solve for b.
1=0%2Bb
b=1
now put b back into the equation.
y=x%2B1
This is your answer.
