Question 82925: Could I please have help in graphing...Thank you!
How do I graph this linear equation: 6x-7y=8
Found 3 solutions by jim_thompson5910, stanbon, chitra: Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! graph this linear equation: 6x-7y=8
--------------
Let x=0, then y=(-8/7), giving you point (0,-8/7)
Let y=0, then x=(4/3), giving you point (4/3,0)
-------------
Plot these two points and draw a line thru them.
That is your graph.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! This is a linear equation since the degree of both x and y are one.
Hence, the graphing of a linear equation is always a straight line.. So hence, we shall write the given equation either in terms of x or y.
Thus, the given equation 6x - 7y = 8 becomes,
7y = 6x - 8 OR
y = (6/7)x - (8/7)
Hence, the graph looks like this:
