Question 820856: Having some trouble understanding how this works.
Find an equation of the line that satisfies the given conditions.
Through (2,3); slope 5
I think the equation is y-y1=m(x-x1) but I can't seem to get the answer in the book.

Hi,
A line can be represented by 3 different standard forms.
May be the answer is not given in the point-slope form.
Ex: line through (-2,0) slope of 5
lst y+-+0+=+green%285%29%28x%2B2%29 |point-slope form, Yes! y+-+y%5B1%5D+=+m%28x+-+x%5B1%5D%29
0r y = 5x + 10 | standard slope-intercept form
0r 5x -y = -10 |standard form
line through(2,3) slope 5
lst y+-+3+=+green%285%29%28x-2%29
0r y = 5x -7
0r 5x - y = 7
