The given equation form is good for finding zeros. It is also good for finding the symmetry axis on which the vertex will be.

Y has two zeros. These zeros are at x=2 and x=4. Directly in the middle is x=3 which runs through the vertex. Y=-2%283-4%29%28x-2%29= the value for Y at the vertex.
