I have been stuck on solving for y when x=0. i think i am doing it right but would greatly appreciate if someone double checked my work, this is what i got when i completed my table: x=0,1,-2,-5,-6.5,1 y=-2.66,4,0,-4,-6,4 not sure why the decimal on only one point
x=(3/4)y-2 (x equals three fourths y minus 2)
x = 0,?,?,-5,?,1
y = ?,4,0,?,-6,?

Why shouldn't there be a decimal result on just one point, given appropriate selection of points? Since you can select any real number for either of the variables and the function will then map some real value and the odds are very much against an integer or even a rational result given a random choice for the first variable. Let and you will get an irrational . And since there are more irrational numbers than there are rational numbers, the likelihood is an irrational result.
