y=6x-8 THIS SLOPE IS 6.
ANY PARALLEL LINE WILL ALSO HAVE A SLOPE OF 6.
y=-1/2x THIS SLOPE IS -0.5.
ANY PERPENDICULAR LINE WILL HAVE A SLOPE OF +2 (THE NEGATIVE RECIPROCAL OF -1/2)
