We can solve this by system of equations.if you want to find x, we must get rid of y. the LCM of 5 and 2 is 10, so we need to multiply the top equation by 2 and the bottom one by 5.
4x%2B10y=40
-15x%2B10y=60
now we can subtract the bottom equation from the top to get:
(4x+10y=40)
-(-15x+10y=60)

19x=-20
x=-20/19, if you plug that into any of the equations, y would equal 84/19
