If the graph intersect y axis, it is called y-intercept and the point of intersection is (0,y). If the graph intersect x axis, it is called x-intercept and the point of intersection is (x, 0).
To graph the equation 2x + 3y = 6
Substitute 0 for y to find the x-intercept.
2x + (0) = 6
2x = 6
x = 3 >>>> point is located (3,0)
Substitute 0 for x to find the y-intercept.
2(0) + 3y = 6
3y = 6
y = 2 >>>>>this point is located (0, 2)
Two points determine a line. Using that two points, you can graph the equation now.
