You can put this solution on YOUR website!

%28x%2F3%29-%28y%2F8%29=1......first find LCD for 3 and 8

since LCD for 3 and 8 is 24, multiply each term on both sides by 24 to get a rid of a fraction

24%28x%2F3%29-24%28y%2F8%29=1%2A24.
cross%2824%298%28x%2Fcross%283%29%29-cross%2824%293%28y%2Fcross%288%29%29=24
8x-3y=24

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+%28x%2F3%29+-+%28y%2F8%29=1++
I would start by multiplying both sides by
the LCD, +24+
+8x+-+3y+=+24+
add +3y+ to both sides
+8x+=+24+%2B+3y+
Subtract +24+ from both sides
+3y+=+8x+-+24+
Divide both sides by +3+
+y+=+%288%2F3%29%2Ax+-+8+
--------------------
Also, doing it the other way:
+%28x%2F3%29+-+%28y%2F8%29=1++
+y%2F8+=+x%2F3+-+1+
+y+=+%288%2F3%29%2Ax+-+8+
OK
