Question 674100: Write an equation of the line given the following.
Point slope: y-y1=m(x-x1) Slope Intercept: y=mx+b
through (5,-8), m=0
I got y= -8, because when you distribute x1, the slope would be just zero.
but I don't know if I'm supposed to use the method; leave, change, change.
for y-(-8)
Help, please?
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! y - -8 = 0(x-5)
y + 8 = 0
y = -8
This is the equation for the line. It is a horizontal line through the y axis
at -8. All x values will be on the line, but the y value will only be -8.
...
Since the line has no rise, but only run (slope is rise/run), the slope is 0.
