SOLUTION: what is the shap of the graph of the function y=x-2x^2

 

Hi,

y= -2x^2 + x    ||completing the Square to put into vertex form

y = -2(x-1/4)^2 +1/8   V(.25,1/8)

the vertex form of a Parabola opening up(a>0) or down(a<0),  

where(h,k) is the vertex  and  x = h  is the Line of Symmetry
