The answer the computer gives is -300 but I don't get that answer no matter what and can't really see how it gets it in the break down either.

You were going along sort of ok, but I don't understand why you did this:

That extra factor of 25 in the RHS does not belong there. I'm going to start over:

Add -44 to both sides

Add to both sides

LCD is 25

Combine like terms in the LHS:

Multiply by 25
