Question 653404: Please help me determine whether the system of equations have one solution, many solutions or no solutions
X-3y=-5
4x+3y=25

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since X and x are NOT the same thing, you really don't have a proper 2X2 system here. But presuming what is a very common typo...
For each equation, divide the coefficient on x by the coefficient on y. If you get two different numbers: one solution. If you get the same answer for both equations, then you either have no solution or an infinity of solutions.
To decide which, choose either of the variables and see if the coefficients on that variable in both equations is the same.
If they are the same, compare the constant terms when the constants are on the same side of the equals sign. If they are the same, infinite solutions. If different, no solution.
If they are different, divide the larger by the smaller; save the quotient. Find the constant term associated with the larger coefficient. Divide that coefficient by the quotient just obtained. If the constant terms are now the same, infinite solutions, if different, no solution.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
