You can put this solution on YOUR website!

y=mx+b [use the slope-intercept form as a model]
y=any y value on the line
m=the slope of the line
x=any corresponding x value on the line
b=the y-intercept (0,b)]
.
3x+y=7 [re-write the equation in the slope-intercept form by solving for y]
y=-3x+7 [match-up the model with this equation]
y=mx+b

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You arrange the terms so they look like this: y+=+mx+%2B+b
Then m will be the slope.
3x+%2B+y+=+7
y+=+-3x+%2B+7
m = -3, so the slope is -3.
