You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How can I write out or what are the steps to find the slope of a line which contains the points (4,5) and (-1,0)
---------
Find the slope of the line:
m=slope=[5-0]/[4--1]=5/5=1
Pick one of the points, say (4,5)
Substitute the x=4,y=5, and m=1 into the formula
y=mx+b; then solve for "b", as follows:
5=4*1+b
b=1
The equation you want is y=x+1

Two points determine a line, so they determine the
slope of the line
m+=+%28y%5B2%5D+-+y%5B1%5D%29+%2F+%28x%5B2%5D+-+x%5B1%5D%29
where m is the slope
Let (4,5) = (x%5B2%5D , y%5B2%5D)
Let (-1,0) = (x%5B1%5D , y%5B1%5D)
m+=+%285+-+0%29+%2F+%284+-+%28-1%29%29
m+=+5%2F5
m+=+1 answer
