Question 606514: Hi I need help with my son's 5th grade math, yes, I do not understand it and it is frustrating me... He is working on Problem solving: working backward. He starts at an ending point and must find the starting point. like on a graph. Here is an example. (x,y) Ending is (6,5), 3 to the left, (9,5) 2 down (9,7) 4 to the right (x,y). I thought I figure it out (5,7). Which I did but the way the book explains it, I did it wrong... So confusing help please!!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The first number moves horizontaly
The second number moves verticaly
(6,5) 3 left =(3,5)
(9,5) 2 down =(9,3)
(9,7) 4 right =(13,7)
I hope I understand your question correctly.
