-4/9+y=1/6 The LCD is 18. Multiply each term by 18
-8+18y=3 add 8 to each side
-8+8+18y=3+8
18y=11
y=11/18
CK
-4/9+11/18=1/6
-8/18+11/18=1/6
3/18=1/6
1/6=1/6
Hope this helps---ptaylor
