Multiply the 1st equation by -2, add to the 2nd equation
-6x + 2y = -10
+ x - 2y = 11
----------------adding eliminates y, find x
-5x = 1
x = 1%2F%28-5%29
x = -.2

Use the 2nd equation to find y
-.2 - 2y = 11
-2y = 11 + .2
-2y = 11.2
y = 11.2%2F%28-2%29
y = -5.6
