Question 52403: I am not fat or anything, but I was wondering if you could help me with this problem.
Lets say I weigh about 320lbs (i don't though), and I want to weigh 92lbs over a period of 100 days. How much weight must I lose per day to drop 228lbs?
I asked my teacher, and he says it's one of these:
a.) 100lbs a day
b.) 50lbs a day
c.) 2.28lbs a day
d.) Never going to happen in your life. Found 2 solutions by sodapop12, ChillyWiz:Answer by sodapop12(2) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You have a period of 100 days to lose 228 pounds...
So, believe or not, the rate of you lose pounds is actually the slope!
The number of days could be thought of as x
The number of pounds you lose could be thought of as y
Therefore, the rate at which you would lose 288 pounds over 100 days is 2.88
a) 100 lbs a day, gives me a net loss of 10,000 pounds over 100 days
b) 50 lbs a day, gives me a net loss of 5,000 pounds over 100 days
d) Never going to happen in your life? Come on! Start now and you'll see results!
Correct answer: c)
