-3(-9) - |-5 - 3| Found 2 solutions by oberobic, Edwin McCravy:Answer by oberobic(2304) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! -3(-9) means -3 times -9 = 27
a minus times a minus is positive
.
|-5-3| = |-8| = 8
absolute value of a negative number is positive
-3(-9) - |-5 - 3|
Do the -5 - 3 first, get -8, so replace the -5 - 3 by -8:
-3(-9) - |-8|
get |-8| next which is 8, so replace the |-8| by 8
-3(-9) - 8
get -3(-9), which is 27, so replace the -3(-9) by 27
27 - 8
