Hi,
Using the point-slope formula,
[-1/3, 2/3] and
[1/3, 7/3] m = -5/3 / -2/3 = 5/2
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = (5/2)x + b |Using ordered pair (-1/3,2/3) to solve for b
2/3 = (5/2)*(-1/3) + b
4/6 + 5/6 = b
9/6 = 3/2 = b
y = (5/2)x + 3/2
