The first step is to put both equations in the form of y=something....
the first equation is already in this form: y=5x+6 and by solving the second equation we get y=-18x-54.
for two lines to be parallel their slope need to be the same, in this case we can observe that one slope is 5 and the other -18... so the answer is that they are not parallel.
