Question 389689: The value v of a shopkeeper's inventory software program is given by v=-1/3t+3, where t is the number of years since the shopkeeper brought the program, what is the program worth 9 years after it is first purchased? Plot the point with the t value 9.
Thank you so very much. I honestly have to admit that if it wasn't for tutors like your selves, I couldnt make it through college. Thank you, again!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming that the equation is v=-%281%2F3%29t%2B3

v=-%281%2F3%29t%2B3 Start with the given equation.

v=-%281%2F3%29%289%29%2B3 Plug in t=9 (since we want to know the value 'v' when it's t=9 years)

v=-9%2F3%2B3 Multiply -1%2F3 and 9 to get -9%2F3

v=-3%2B3 Reduce

v=0 Combine like terms.

So the program's worth after 9 years is $0. In other words, the program is worthless after 9 years (so this the point of no return)

So when t=9, v=0 giving us the point (9,0)
