You can put this solution on YOUR website! Lines parallel to each other have the same slope
slope of line joining (4,4) and (-2,1) =∆y/∆x =(4-1)/(4-(-2))=3/6=1/2
for line passing thru (7,y) and (1,0), using point (1,0) and slope intercept formula, y = mx + b
0=(1/2)*1 + b
b=-(1/2)
equation of line passing thru (7,y) and (1,0)
y=(1/2)x-(1/2)
when x=7, y = (1/2)*7-(1/2) = 7/2 -1/2 =6/2 =3
Ans: y=3
