You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0x + 2y = 14
2y = 14
y=7

11x+10y=147
11x+10(7)=147
11x+70=147
11x=147-70
11x=77
x=7
Answers: x=7, y=7

Even though it says to use the elimination method, we don't need to cancel out any variables here. Notice that the second equation is 0x%2B2y=14. This is the same as writing 2y=14. Divide both sides by 2 to get y=7. Then you can plug y=7 into the first equation to make 11x%2B10y=147 become 11x%2B10%2A7=147. Then you get 11x%2B70=147. Subtract 70 from both sides to get 11x+=77. Divide both sides by 11 to get x=7. So, y=7 and x =7. I hope this helps! Please visit my website at www.myonlinetutor.webs.com to get homework help. Thanks! =]
