You can put this solution on YOUR website!
                        -3/8 < -1/4x + 1/8 < 5/8

Clear of fractions by multiplying all terms on all three sides by 8

               8·(-3/8) < 8·(-1/4x) + 8·(1/8) < 8·(5/8)

                            -3 < -2x + 1 < 5

Subtract 1 from all three sides:

                            -3 < -2x + 1 < 5
                            -1 -1 -1
                          —————————————————————
                            -4 < -2x < 4

Divide all three sides by -2, remembering that whenever we divide
an inequality through by a negative number, the symbol is reversed:

                               -4 < -2x < 4

                        -4/(-2) > -2x/(-2) > 4/(-2)

                                 2 > x > -2

This is a perfectly good answer; however it is customary to change this
so that we use " < " instead of " > ", so the answer is

                                -2 < x < 2
