First of all, we want to set all the x on one side and all the numbers on the other side.
so we add 4 to both sides first.
3x-4+4 = x+10+4
3x = x+14
Then we subtract x from both sides
3x-x = x+14-x
2x = 14
Finally, divide both sides by 2
2x/2 = 14/2
x = 7
