y = x+7, y = -x+2
are these lines parallel,perpendicular, or neither
*Note: Parallel lines have the smar slope, perpendicular line the slopes
are negative reciprocals of one another.
standard slope intercept form is y = mx + b
y = x+7 is the same as y = (1/1)m +7 and it's slope is 1/1
y = -x+2 is the same as y = (-1/1)x + 2
Slopes are negative reciprocals, the lines are perpendicular.
Using a t-table listing at least three points for each line and graphing the
lines would also show the lines to be perpendicular
