Question 333987: determine the x- and y- intercepts (if any) of the given equation. SHOW WORK. Then plot the intercepts and graph
y=+1%2F5x+%2B+6
I do not understand how to get the intercepts, I do know how to plot it on a graph though so I think I only need help with the first half of the question.
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To find the x-intercept, set y=0 and solve for x.
y=+1%2F5x+%2B+6
0=+1%2F%285x%29+%2B+6
1%2F%285x%29=-6
x=-1%2F30
(-1/30,0)

.
To find the y-intercept, set x=0 and solve for y.
y=+1%2F5x+%2B+6
y=+1%2F%285%280%29%29+%2B+6
Division by zero is undefined so there is no y-intercept.
