2x=8-3y

3x=12-%289%2F2%29y
Now subsitute into eq.2,
3x%2B2y=7
%2812-%289%2F2%29y%29%2B2y=7
-%289%2F2%29y%2B%284%2F2%29y=-5
-%285%2F2%29y=-5

Then you can use either equation to solve for x.
