are vertical lines linear? Are they functions? How would you write the equation for a vertical line?

A function associates each element in the domain with exactly one element in the codomain which means that for each x there is only one y.
Let's look at the vertical line with one x but many y's
x=3
The slope is undefined since x never changes. So the denominator is 0.
