You can put this solution on YOUR website! Write each equation in standard form. Identify a,b,c
36) 1/3x - 1/3y = -2
38) 0.25y = 10
40) 0.25x = 0.1 + 0.2y
Step 1. The standard form for a linear equation is given in the form of ax+by=c where a, b, and c are constants.
Step 2. For Problem 36,
Multiply 3 to both sides of equation to get rid of denominator
where a=1, b=-1 and c=-6 (ANSWER)
Step 3. For Problem 38,
we can multiply by 4 to both sides of equation
where a=0, b=1 and c=40 (ANSWER)
Step 4. For Problem 40,
where , , and
Multiply by 20 to both sides of equation to get rid of denominator
Subtract 4y from both sides of equation to put in standard form
where a=5, b=-4, and c=2 (ANSWER)
I hope the above steps were helpful.
