The domain is simply the set of all allowable inputs or x values. Since all points are of the form (x,y), the domain is just the set of all of the first coordinates.


The range is the set of outputs which are y values. Using the point (x,y), the range is just the set of all of the second coordinates.


Now ask yourself: is there an x value that produces two different outputs? If so, then the relation is NOT a function.
