You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+2y=5.....I am so lost on how to get the answer to place on a graph. I have the formula, just not sure how to place y=mx+b.
:
Put equation in the y = mx + b form
3x + 2y = 5
Subtract 3x from both sides:
2y = -3x + 5
Divide both sides by 2
y = %28-3%2F2%29x + 5%2F2
we can write it:
y = -1.5x + 2.5
:
Make a table for x=-3 and x = +3; substitute for x, find y
x | y
-------
-3 | 7;......(y = -1.5(-3) + 2.5)
+3 |-2;......(y = -1.5(3) + 2.5)
:
Plot these and join with a straight line
