Solve the following absolute value inequality:
½ |x – 2| < 4
:
Multiply both sides by 2, to get rid of the fraction
|x - 2| < 8
Remove the absolutes, solve two equations:
x - 2 < +8
x < 8 + 2
x < 10
and
x - 2 > -8
x > -8 + 2
x > -6
