2x%2B3=0 Set the denominator equal to zero.


2x=0-3 Subtract 3 from both sides.


2x=-3 Combine like terms on the right side.


x=-3%2F2 Divide both sides by 2 to isolate x.


So when x=-3%2F2 the denominator 2x%2B3 is zero.


So we must make the restriction that x%3C%3E-3%2F2


So the domain is x can be any real number BUT x%3C%3E-3%2F2
