Question 192344: I had some others that I have worked on but this stuff is confusing. Please help me find the correct answer. Thanks a bunch
1.Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (3, -5) and (-4, -6).
2.Find the equation in slope-intercept form, of the line that passes through the points (3, 6) and (-7, -3); write equation in slope-intercept form.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

1.Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (3, -5) and (-4, -6).

Via Point-Slope Form:

red%28m=1%2F7%29, Answer

Let's check thru point (3,-5) via Slope-Intercept form, system%28y=mx%2Bb%29
-5=%281%2F7%29%283%29%2Bb
b=-5-3%2F7=%28-35-3%29%2F7
b=-38%2F7, or b=-5.428, Y-Interecpt

It follows your Line Eqn, red%28y=%281%2F7%29x-38%2F7%29

We'll see graph,

2.Find the equation in slope-intercept form, of the line that passes through the points (3, 6) and (-7, -3); write equation in slope-intercept form.

First we find the Slope:
m=%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29=%28-3-6%29%2F%28-7-3%29=-9%2F-10
red%28m=9%2F10%29

Then thru point (3,6) via Slope-Intercept Form,system%28y=mx%2Bb%29
6=%289%2F10%29%283%29%2Bb---> 6=27%2F10%2Bb
b=6-27%2F10=%2860-27%29%2F10
red%28b=33%2F10%29, or b=3.3

It follows, red%28y=%289%2F10%29x%2B33%2F10%29, Answer

Let us see,

Thank you,
