You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x+ 5y = 16 5x-2y=11
How to Graph each system of equation then determine if the system has one solution or no solution or infinity many solution
-------------
Solve each for "y":
y = (-2/5)x + (16/5)
y = (5/2)x - (11/2)
------
To graph, determine two points from each equation; plot them; draw a line.
Graph y = (-2/5)x + (16/5)
Let x = 0, then y = (16/5) giving you point (9,16/5)
Let x = 5 , the y = -2 + (16/5) = 6/5 giving you point (5,6/5)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Graph y = (5/2) - (11/2)
Let x = 0, then y = -11/2 giving you (0,-11/2)
Let x = 2, then y = 5 - 11/2 = -1/2 giving you (2,-1/2)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The product of the slopes is -1 so the lines are perpendicular.
the system has one solution.
