Graphs of linear equations are straight lines. To graph one, you need only 2 points, then draw a straight line thru them. Make the 2 points far enough apart that the graph is accurate.
One way to find 2 point is to set x = 0 and solve for y. That gives a point (0,y). Then set y = 0 and solve for x to get (x,0). If those 2 points are sufficiently far apart, draw the line thru them. If not, set x or y equal to any value and solve for the other variable and use that point.
