Question 153231: I need help understanding how to determine this equation. I am trying to help my daughter with her worksheet, of course the school has not assigned text books yet (I asked for that also).

I entered the pairs of numbers into a TI-83 calculator; graphed a scatter plot;
then ran several Regression programs on the data to find the best fit.

The best fit was the quartic equation y = -2.25x^4+175x^3-39.75x^2+17.5x+32-
Its r-value is 1; the r-values for linearReg, quadreg, cubreg are all less
than 1.
