You can put this solution on YOUR website!
evaluate the functions rule y=3x^2+4 for x=-2.
f(-2) = 3(-2)^2+4 = 3*4+4 = 16
-----------------------------------------
explain which is the dependent and independent variable.
x is the independent variable; y is the dependent variable.
----------------------------------------
graph the function.
You need three points:
If x = 0, y = 4
If x = 1, y = 7
If x = -2, y = 16
-----------------------
Plot those points and draw a parabola opening upward through them.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First you substitute -2 to x:
y=3x^2=4 -----> y=(3)(-2)^2 + 4 = (3)(4)+4 = 16
-The independent variable is x because it is your input.
-The dependent variable is y because it is your output and its value depends on the value of x
