Question 146237: -3(-x+4) = 3x-12
I tried distributing the first expression:
3x - 12 = 3x - 12
then add 12 to both sides:
3x = 3x
then divide each side by 3:
x = x
is this possible?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
not only possible, but guaranteed ... anything equals itself

the point here is that x does not have a unique value ... any value will satisfy the equation
