Question 129703: I need some help creating this linear equation. Help Please!
By the time and infant boy is one year old, he will weigh approximately two and a half time the amount he weighed at birth. Baby Jim weighed 8.4 pounds when he was born.
Write a linear equation that gives Jim's weight, w, in terms of his age, a, where a is measured in months. (Hint: There are two odered pairs, (a,w), indicated in the opening paragraph).

You can put this solution on YOUR website! the 2 ordered pairs are birth weight (0,8.4) and year-old weight (12,21)
the slope, m, is (21-8.4)/(12-0)
the y-intercept, b, is the point where the line crosses the y-axis
__ x is equal to zero at this point (HINT: look at 1st ordered pair)
y=mx+b
