You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the system by graphing.
x + 3y = -3
2x – y = 8
--------------
Solve each equation for "y".
y = (-1/3)x -1
y = 2x - 8
----------------
Plot points for each equation:
y = (-1/3)x - 1
If x = 0, y = -1
If x = 3, y = -2
Plot the points: (0,-1) and (3,-2)
and draw a line thru them.
------------------------------
y = 2x - 8
If x = 0, y = -8
If x = 1, y = -6
---------------------
plot the points: (0,-8) and (1,-6)
and draw a line thru them.
